Lodging

This information is provided to assist our conference registrants in making their lodging arrangements. Registrants should make their own reservations and work directly with the hotels.

Both hotel options allow multiple occupants in the same room. If you would like to connect with other registrants to talk about sharing rooms and transportation, please join our YahooGroup email discussion list, the Hype and Feedback Sharing (you will need to create a free Yahoo account if you do not have one).

The Four Points by Sheraton Durham at Southpoint

This hotel no longer has rooms at the conference discount price.  They might still have rooms available at their regular price.  Please call them at (919) 806-8200 or go to their general website for reservations to check on what's available.

Notes:

• The conference will offer complimentary shuttle service to and from NCCU's campus from the host hotel only. We will provide enough shuttles to get people to and from campus on Friday evening and in the morning and afternoon on Saturday and Sunday.

• The Four Points by Sheraton Durham at Southpoint offers complimentary airport shuttle service to and from the Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU). Please contact the hotel to schedule your ride.

• As you explore the FourPoints by Sheraton Durham's at Southpoint website, note a continental and hot breakfast is available for purchase at the hotel, a full service bar is open in the evenings and they are close to many shopping and dining choices.

The Courtyard Durham Near Duke University/Downtown by Marriott

A second option we suggest is The Courtyard Durham Near Duke University/Downtown by Marriott.

A block of rooms for conference registrants has been reserved at a discount rate of $69 a night for a king room (with a sofa bed) or a two bed (double/double) room. This rate is available until September 11, 2009, or until the block of rooms is filled. Rooms at this rate may not be available after September 11.

To make your reservation, call 1-800-321-2211 and ask for the U2 Conference group rate, or go to their website and enter in the group code box UCNUCNA for a king room or UCNUCNB for a double/double room.

Notes:

• The Courtyard Durham by Marriott has one shuttle van which will run to/from NCCU's campus based on availabilty. They do not have a shuttle that serves the airport.  Please consult our transportation page for hiring an airport shuttle.

• As you explore their website, please note a continental and hot breakfast is available for purchase at the hotel and there are a couple of good dining choices near the hotel.
